Become Non-Diabetic in Six Months!

Welcome to our six month Beat Diabetes Challenge! I cannot guarantee anything, of course, but I believe that most diabetics can see A1c's in the five's within six months, if they strictly adhere to the dietary, low-carb intervention as it is described in this challenge.

Work with your doctor as you make dietary changes. Inform him or her of the changes you will be making and if you are on diabetic meds or insulin, ask your doctor if your dosage needs to be changed once you significantly reduce the carbohydrates in your diet.

To start receiving short messages and important links from me, I need your email address. Send an email to grace@spiritofgrace.org with "Count Me In" written on the subject line.

Here are the 8 major pillars (components) of the lifestyle change that you will adopt for the next six months:

  1. 1. Eat every day within a six hour window. One way to do this, which is the way I do it, is to skip breakfast, except for a cup of bulletproof coffee or tea (coffee or tea with cream and butter, or coconut oil and butter). Eat your first "real" meal at lunch which should be between noon and one pm. After this meal eat nothing until dinner, which should be somewhere between 6 to 7 pm. After this meal you will eat nothing more for the night. Your next taste of "food" will be your bulletproof coffee in the morning, and your next "real meal" will be your lunch between 12 and 1 pm. Alternatively you could eat a real breakfast and lunch and have your bulletproof coffee in lieu of your evening meal.
    2. Do not eat any high-carb or even medium carb foods. For these six months give up all breads, pasta, breakfast cereal, potatoes, and rice. Do not be deceived into eating "healthy whole-grain" foods. Just avoid them altogether. You can eat chaffles in place of bread, cauliflower rice instead of real rice, avocadoes in place of potatoes. There are some low-carb breads you can buy in stores, but test these with your glucose meter and make sure that your glucose is not spiking above 140. Sometimes these breads labeled low-carb can fool you.
    3. Focus on meats and salads, and other low carb vegetables. Hi-fat dairy products such as heavy cream and cheese can help fill you. Also eat eggs in abundance, without guilt. If you are new to the program, check out the menus from previous months, and you should get some good ideas for foods and meals.
    4. Unless you are a vegan or vegetarian, Mondays are "Carnivore days." Eat meat, cheese, dairy, eggs – basically low-carb foods coming from animals. If you are a vegan or vegetarian, eat as low carb as you can. Salads are a good choice. Cheese can be filling (if you allow yourself to eat cheese).
    5. Remember: The rule is that for these six months, your goal is to get your A1c and glucose levels down. For these six months this goal takes priority over nutrition. What shall it profit a man if he gets lots of vitamin C each day, but his blood sugar is running in the 200's, 300's, or 400's? After you get your glucose levels closer to normal, you can experiment with eating some iffy foods like a small bowl of bean soup, a clementine, or half of a small apple. But for right now, keep your eyes on the prize!
    6. If the menu items do not fill you up, you can add any "very-low-carb" items to your meal to fill you. This could include boiled eggs, block cheese, chaffles, hamburger patties, sausage, etc. Or you can simply make more of the items listed. If you are eating two eggs and 3 slices of bacon, and they don't fill you, then make two more eggs and three more slices of bacon. If you are eating a hamburger patty and a salad, and this does not fill you, then make two hamburger patties and a bigger salad. Or you can always have a large mug of bullet proof coffee after your meal, which is quite filling. (If caffeine is a problem for you, use decaffeinated coffee.)
    7. Eat dinner relatively early. Try to begin your dinner around 6:30 pm and be finished by 7 pm or a little after.
    8. Fridays and Saturdays you are allowed to have some form of keto dessert. In the previous menus I have included many "keto desserts." If these are not enough, go to YouTube and type "keto dessert" in the search box. You will find enough desserts to last you for several lifetimes.

If you have not seen all the videos I have posted from Feb. through now on YouTube, you really need to watch them, as a number of them related directly to this challenge. Go to our UPLOADS PAGE and watch all the videos from "four months ago" and watch them to the present.

FIGURE YOUR A1C (CLOSE APPROXIMATION) AT HOME

To figure your A1c at home, test your glucose 5 times in one day:

  1. Fasting glucose in the morning
  2. One hour after lunch
  3. Three hours after lunch
  4. One hour after dinner
  5. Before you go to bed

Average these five numbers (divide by 5)

Plug that number into the calculator ON THIS PAGE

This will be a pretty close approximation of your A1c at this time.

Here are the four months of menus. Even though the months of Feb. – May are listed, you can use these menus whenever you start. So if you start in July, the Feb. menu will be your July menu and so forth.

God bless you. I will be adding to this page so check back soon. And by all means pray and ask your Heavenly Father to help you win this battle. You are not alone in this. "If God is for us, who can be against us?"

Missions Outreach

A major part of Spirit of Grace Ministries is our ministry in the great continent of Africa. There is a tremendous harvest going on in the world these days, and we are privileged to be a part of it. Above is a brief music video featuring video clips and pics from our recent mission in Nigeria in Oct/Nov, 2019.

Audio Devo: "Why is there suffering?"

People have debated this question for millennia. And we cannot speak concerning specific individual questions of suffering, but the Bible clearly speaks as to why suffering has always been a part of the human experience.
